For 20 years, Cynthia MacDonald has been practicing law in the areas of civil and criminal litigation. After graduating magna cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law, she served as a law clerk in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland. She married Andrew MacDonald and moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland in 1997. She worked as an Assistant State’s Attorney for several years before entering the private practice of law. She joined her husband in practice in 2009, and together they formed MacDonald Law Office, LLC.
During her employment as a criminal prosecutor, Ms. MacDonald handled hundreds of criminal and traffic cases in the District Court as well as major felonies in the Circuit Court, including burglary, robbery, sexual offenses, and murder. Since entering the private practice of law, Ms. MacDonald has defended criminal and traffic cases in the District and Circuit Courts across the Eastern Shore.
Ms. MacDonald has also been counsel for both plaintiffs and defendants in cases involving a variety of civil claims, including personal injury, trust and estate litigation, business disputes, administrative law, and zoning. She also practices in the areas of estate and business planning, assisting clients with the formation of businesses and the preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance medical directives, and business agreements. Ms. MacDonald’s clients have included individuals, families, small businesses, and local governments.
Ms. MacDonald currently lives with her husband, Andrew, and their two children in Salisbury, Maryland. She is active in the community serving on the Board of Directors for Hudson Health Services and as Chair of the Development Committee of St. Francis de Sales Catholic School.
